Do the analysts that ESPN hires and puts on TV even do any research these days? I mean come one. Craig James (ABC) was talking about Georgia last week during halftime of one of the games on ABC. He talked about how they struggled with Georgia Southern. Does 38-0 mid-way through the third quater sound like struggling to you? He also said Knowshon Moreno had a pulled hamstring and that was bad for Georgia. Um....he had a cramp. I know these guys don't have time to watch every game, for what was the #1 team in the country you would think they would be prepared to speak accurately on what happened in the game.
I noticed that he did not miss a thing regarding USC, Ohio State and Florida. Hmmm....I wonder why. Does ESPN have a little bit of bias on what they cover and talk about? Didn't Dicky V harshly criticize Coach Gillespie up at UK over recruiting a middle schooler and then turn around and praise Bill Donovan, of Florida, the very next week?
I love watching ESPN as much as anyone. But, ESPN has so much influence on college sports these days that at times it is ridiculous. Where do you think the AP voters go to find out how teams played each week before casting their vote? When a guy like Craig James says that UGA's offense struggled, well some AP voter is going to take that to heart and think that is the truth. What about when recruits flip on ESPN and the #1 team in the nation is not shown until after the first commercial break. ESPN says that it is because UGA played Georgia Southern. But, wait, Ohio State played Youngstown State and they where shown in segment numero uno. Makes you think......
