The movie Evan Almighty is not that great of a movie, but there it does bring up something that I thought was very profound. In the movie, Morgan Freeman plays the role of God. At one point he tells "Evan's" wife, well without quoting, he tells her that when you pray and ask for something God may not necessarily give you what you ask for, but He may give you means means to do or get what you ask for. For example, in the move the mother prays for more time with her family. Well, "God" tells her that he may not always just give her more time with her family but, he may provide her family with an opportunity to spend more time together (in this case, building the arc).
To me, I thought that really hit home because I have always believed that God does not always just give us what we want but he will do his part as long as we do ours.
